This boat has had breakdowns before. In her very fist interview the wife said that the boat had to be towed in twice before.

I know we have found out that the hull is foam filled .. but as we all know with some boats with age that foam could be waterlogged to begin with....
is it a crazy idea to estimate how much anchor line they might have had on a 24ft boat.. And with that estimate figure the possible depth of the water they might have been in at the time the storm came through and do some sort of an under water search in those possible areas? Maybe start at the 8A marker or close to where the cell phone pinged?
Is it just too vast to search under water? Is clarity under the water an issue?

im sorry in advance for sounding so uneducated in this type of procedure. I feel so terrible for these guys and their families. I fish out of Staten Island NY, In the bay and I canít seem to have the heart to go out and fish until these guys are found.

its been great to see this community come together and keep each other informed...
Interesting theory ... but I don't think so. If it was anchored, they would have found it.
Rogue wave maybe ???? (Swamped/overturned)
They said the gear bag was 50 miles out....... very deep water there.
Maybe failure of thru hull fitting and took out the electrical before they knew what was happening.
I am donating to the private rescue efforts ......still praying these guys get to tell the story of what happened.

People search for years looking for shipwrecks. It's not easy.

The cell phone hit the tower, but was not triangulated. Not accurate enough to do much with.

An anchor isn't holding a foam filled boat underwater. You'd break the cleat before that would happen.

I'm no SAR expert, but I am positive this was considered. And since 8A was their intended target, I'm sure they tore that area up (above and below). However, the effort has been focused on a rescue and not a recovery.

May sound silly (to some), but there are professional psychics who specialize in helping to find missing people.

Just not successfully. They specialize in finding suckers.

I have always wanted to knock on a physic door late of the night.

When they ask. Who is it?

Answer them. " You tell me".

OK, Physics are fake, but Prayer is real. I understand now. Just trying to help. Time to explore all avenues now though, I think.

I agree it's silly, but this isn't the time or place to mock people for believing in prayer or psychics. Whatever helps people deal with this is fine by me.

Default Prayer for Protection

The light of God surrounds us;
The love of God enfolds us;
The power of God protects us;
The presence of God watches over us;
Wherever we are, God is!

I donít suppose it overly matters at this point, but Iím curious as to what major issues the boat has had in its recent history that required it to be towed. Weíre all basically sitting here, waiting for these boys to be found, so I figured Iíd throw it out there. I saw Brianís dadís obit and it indicated he was an engineer. Usually those guys maintain their stuff pretty top notch. It also gives me hope there may have been more stuff for safety than previously thought.

I didn't say that either one is silly. I think it's worth a try, but physic would need a family member to work with.

Is it possible to view other screen-shots of boat ramp photo? Does it show them putting drain plug in? Is there a trail of water going down the ramp where the boat drained while being backed down?

Any other webcams between the ramp and the inlet that show them going out?
