Default 2017 200 suzuki eng check shift control

I have a 2017 Suzuki 200 outboard with digital controls. Been getting this shift control warning and boat wont shift into gear. turn off battery switch and it resumes to work. Becoming more of a frequent problem. Any suggestions?

I have similar issue but after using for a while. Im leaning toward safety switch. Mine does this every now and again on the port engine. Notice it wont shift into gear after a while of use. Then will work again after shutting everything off.
I was messing with the safety switch in the engine and would sometimes work again.

id be curious if anyone else knew what it was.

Mine continued to get worse and my mechanic diagnosed it with a bad sensor and replaced it. No more problems. Started out like yours and over 8 months got worse.
