I am thinking of re-powering an older boat with new 4 strokes. Currently has SW series 225 hp on it. Was thinking of a set of Mercs 4 strokes at 225 hp. Anyone have an idea of a ballpark price?

call a couple dealers and get pricing or look online at someone that sells them (authorized)

$15K each, according to the printout I got from Bass Pro Shop in Austin a couple months ago. That does not include rigging, so that'll add another $3-4K depending on your desires.

Make a few phone calls and you’ll have them. The THT members are just too happy to improve the Asian economy and use the delivery as their main tool. Sad indeed, thanks for choosing American made products.

I am holding back despite how attempting the new 450’s are. My old faithful Verados will serve me good for another year or so, then new Mercs 450’s or better is going on. I just hate to be the test mule..... Martin got them, Bradenton Beach Marina has them, and I bet a few vendors on here got them too. Mercury just opened up a new plant to meet demand, but most on here will only suggest you support the Asian Economy because the boat they bought could only be delivered with an Asian motor, and to them its the only motor that matters. Lets get real and call a spade a spade, there is only one American made outboard and we better support them. Yes, it took me 40 years to not hate them, but they are the only American Owned Outboards produced today and their service is next to no one.
