Unhappy Bennett/Yamaha customer service

Is it just my imagination or has the great service from Bennett changed significantly since Yamaha has taken over? My last encounter was well below par.

I have found them very attentive to my recent need. I could tell they are VERY busy. If acuators come in by Thursday like planned, I will be very happy with them

Perhaps you have irrational expectations.

Nope. Just a drive by slammer.

We don't like to hear two sides of a story on THT. Just hear something and proceed to flog the manufacturer. It is a bonus if Yamaha is involved.

Man, you guys are harsh. Just a question. Maybe I was just getting them on a bad day. Everybody that replied can now go fishing and chill.

We were spoiled with Tabman's attentiveness here but now he's gone and apparently doesn't have a successor. I called Bennett in February with an issue and received guidance from their staff within a few minutes. It was a good experience.

Default Your not imagining it

I called them this morning about a broken trim tab actuator that I need warranty on and issues with my ATP unit. Totally useless customer service. Iím pretty sure he was reading from a sheet of responses.

I asked if I could buy a unit from them and they would credit me the cost once they had my old one back so that Iím not out for 2-3 weeks waiting on it to return. Told me that they donít do direct sales so Iím out of luck. I donít believe that as Iíve had them send me stuff before without issue. Now I have to spend $170 for an actuator that should be free so we are not on the hard for weeks.

Also wouldnít even listen to me on the ATP issue. Said itís the bad actuator. Iíve been having issues from day one. Actuator just broke. Wasnít what was causing my issues as I had already went down that road with Tom.

So frustrated right now. Customer service as a whole is trash everywhere anymore.

I had recent negative experience as well, to say Tabman spoiled us is an understatement. He would deliver parts in person to the ramp on his way home, always free of charge (i was not original owner of boat/tabs). Rest easy buddy

I installed Bennett Bolts on my boat last summer. Worked great with no issues at all until ....... hurricane Michael! My boat came through just fine but with all the clean up and repairing the home just did not have time to go fishing for several months. Getting the boat ready to go out the first time after sitting about 5 months I discovered two problems ..... 1. Bilge pump had frozen up. 2. Port side Bolt actuator had frozen up. Bennett customer service was fine, just didn't get my replacement actuator back for about 2 weeks. However, the very day I mailed the frozen actuator back to them I purchased a spare actuator and installed it right away. Got in a couple of fishing trips and now have a spare just in case this happens again.
