Default Spiders on boat

I keep my center console on Lake Murray South Carolina and I am having a tough time keeping spiders off. I use it two or three times a week and every time I go out there are spiderwebs and spiders all over the boat. Does anyone have any suggestions about keeping them off?

If you cover your boat, try hanging a couple sacks made out of cheese cloth filled with a half dozen mothballs.

Give it a good spray of OrthoHome Defense every couple of weeks. Be sure you spray the surrounding dock, all lines, the cover, and the corners of your interior.

This. Also, it may be harder in a CC, but when I had a sport fisher, I would put a bug bomb in the cabin, the fly bridge, and the bilge. A lot of them hide down in the bilge and tight places so even if you spray them all, they always come back. I did this at the beginning and mid season. It never got rid of all of them, but it made it manageable.

Hit it with bifen about once a month. Also your dock and lift if you have one. Also on Murray. Itís the only thing that keeps the spider poop at bay.

What are the spiders eating? Bugs. Is the boat lighted at night, even with IR light?

on most of the lake there is no way to get into enough darkness to keep them away. Just stray light from other houses, or even the moon. We arenít allowed to have roofs over our lifts or docks which doest help.

There is no way to keep them off unless you are there every day with spray and a broom for the webs. Dock lights attract flies and bugs that are caught by the webs and are fed on by the spiders. My marina sprays regularly, but they are still there.

Get some frogs. They eat the bugs and the occasional spider. At the end of the season catch the frogs and have a delicious meal of fried frog legs. Win, Win, Win

Drape a blue tarp from the bottom of your boat house roof so it hovers over the complete length of your boat. Something about the fabric they donít like to make make webs on. Thought it was BS until I saw it in Lousiana at every covered slip in a marina and it works.

no covered docks allowed on Lake Murray, with the exception of grandfathered (very few) and a couple of marinas.

I wouldn't bother spraying poison all over my boat. Think about it - you'll end up touching all those things. Definitely worse than most spiders..

Get frogs to eat the spiders and snakes to eat the frogs and mongeese to eat the snakes and Gators to eat the mongeese and Cajuns to eat the gators and whiskey to pacify the Cajuns. Problem solved.

Wasps, spiders, snakes i've had them all.Even had a feral cat jump out the back at 40 in the dark. Just kill them when they're in the way.
