Was out at bunces pass on Sunday. Nothing too crazy going on. Couple of jet skis not be considerate of there wakes but other than that was a great day.

Had a pontoon boat following me out of passagrille that was keeping up with me pretty good. Was surprised how good it was riding.

I didn't go boating today. Instead I went to the Bay Pines VA cemetery to pay respects to those heroes. And to all the departed veterans in our families while I was there.

Only one...ME! Left my slip with a strong wind off my stern. Have to turn left immediately to get in the channel which 4 slips away. The bow started to get pushed to starboard so I hit reverse to hopefully straighten her out. At that moment my dock neighbor was coming in on my left which limited my ability to maneuver to the left. Not paying attention, I was pushed into the bow of a boat opposite my slip. No visible damage to him but took a couple of good sized chips out of my gunwale. Damn. Should have paid more attention to what my boat was doing and noticed my neighbor coming in at the same time. Lesson learned.

Met my neighbors and friends up at the Johnathan Dickinson st Park sandbar (marker 44 North of Jupiter inlet). This is usually the family one with all the chaos happening in Tequesta or especially down at Peanut. We were surrounded by boats with kids from 3-4 to 13-15. They’re all playing and swimming. Perfect day.

Around 12:30 a 39’ SeaVee shoves his way between two boats, jacks up the club music, and their crew are immediately drinking Vodka straight from the bottle (who has time for cups and ice). Not more than 30 mins later my son yells from the TTop, “ Dad are they lesbians?” When I turn around there are two Riviera Beach looking tattooed chicks on the bow, one twerking on her knees and the second eating her out from behind (still thru the suit at this point). It went downhill fast from there and about 5-6 of us pulled anchors and left. We we ended up about a half mile further up and had a small beach all to ourselves. Probably should have gone there to begin with being a holiday and all.

I don't care care that they want to party but someone has to got have the sense to know that you’re literally surrounded by kids. Go to Peanut or better Boca and bang your brains out.

you can’t tell cause it’s high tide but it’s sitting on the rocks north channel gulf harbors. The boat is from our condo complex and I have no idea what happened. They were rescued Sunday night about 10 pm and dropped off at our docks about 11 pm.
That picture was taken Monday morning on our way out it was still sitting there on our return at a lower tide and she’s really on the rocks.

Jet ski driver yelling at DNR at top of his lungs and berating officers for pulling him over (he was obviously drunk), Jet ski sinking at the dock (reason unknown), and I saw pictures of a local woman that was hanging off the swim platform to pee and someone on boat accidentally bumped the engine in gear. The prop sliced her lower back open pretty badly. I am so glad I decided to stay on land and watch the circus side show from the marina dock.

We were out and one the water all weekend.

Saturday we went to Peanut Island. The only issue was the guy at the ramp (Phil Foster) loading his coolers and bags while blocking the ramp. The sheriff asked him to pull over to the loading zone then drop the boat in. The owner moved the boat and everything went smooth.

Sunday/Monday we put in at Burt Reynolds in Jupiter and took the ditch up to Manatee Pocket and stayed the night at Pirates Cove. Nice easy ride with nothing crazy. The worst thing we saw was a boat running with his dive ladder bouncing in his wake.

Flamingo was pretty quiet, the fish were biting, and the idiot count was way lower than the horsefly count...

...until I hit Florida City and the turnpike on the drive back home. Idiots on the road at 5 in Miami yesterday? Uncountable.

Seem another guy doing sobriety tests with his boat in tow, the look on his girls face told the outcome.

Didnt see it happen but saw sherrifs investigating a blow board mast hitting a bridge & breaking in 1/2.

Watched teenaged kids running on plane 15’ from a pile of people at a sandbar. Police boat ran aground when they went to stop them so the outcome is unknown to me, i was leaving at the time.

Not a whole lot of excitement down that punta rassa public ramp. Of course there's always one in a crowd. Guy was impatient be in order to launch his big pontoon boat because the guy in front of him didn't clear the dock fast enough which was kind of okay. Then he launched after waiting 10 minutes and doing nothing and tied up literally at the end of his trailer to the boat ramp dock. At that point he spent a half an hour assembling his erector set bimini tops and loading all of his his goodies. keep in mind this is after he sat waiting at the water's edge for the boat to clear in front of him for almost 20 minutes. it was fascinating to watch him carefully fold all of these zippered covers that came off of his Bimini top, seats, console, etc. And carefully place them ever so gently into various storage containers all the while blocking the ramp completely.

The other interesting thing to watch was the channel through and under the Sanibel bridge. this channel is signed as no wake for 100 ft either side of the bridge. Keep in mind that 100 feet for most boat is only four or five boat lengths. so what was interesting was the number of boats that slow down to idle speed upwards of two or three hundred yards from the bridge and then all the faster boats weaving in between them in order to slow down only 100 feet from the bridge.

no damage, no deaths, no injuries, guess it was as good as could be expected :-)

We were at Bunce's Pass yesterday. Met up with my parents. It was a friends birthday so went out to celebrate. We all decided to go for a walk and my parents were leaving. Started walking back and noticed the boat next to me people were on my boat. Turns out they did not like how I anchored my boat so close to them, even though I was there 3 hours prior to their arrival, so they decided once my parents had left and there was more room to my starboard that they would take it upon themselves to re anchor my boat for me.

Never in my life have I had anyone step on my boat let alone re anchor my boat. Needless to say I was extremely pissed off. They told us the boat was in danger of being washed up on the beach so they had to adjust my stern anchor..... There's some logic. I walked away before I threw a punch, then we left.

I know I shouldn't assume such things, but I'm betting this incident involved an inexperienced wife backing the trailer down the ramp to recover the boat while husband was still on the boat.

We had been running a straight course for at least 5 miles at a constant speed. I had zero previous interaction or conflict with this guy, he just came up from behind. We had no closing situation. His boat was much bigger and he could have actually SHORTENED his route simply crossing behind me. I was with my wife and three dogs trying to have the absolute most chill boat ride and I DID NOT want to get in a shouting match or worse. Other boat had a few couples on board and little kids, no help for such an idiot. Did I really wanna ruin my day further with the adrenaline spike that comes with a confrontation and the yelling of profanities likely to ensue in front of a bunch of little kids?

I pulled my throttle back as the dick head crossed in front of me slowing to minimize the impact of his wake which was significant. My wife who was relaxing getting a tan on her back raised her head and asked “what was that?” my response was “an IDIOT” she responded “oh” and put her back down.

Might have felt good for a minute or two to escalate the situation but I made the right call. Twenty some or even 30 some me would have handled this situation differently but 55 me just let it go......
