Default Chemical Breakthrough -- Nair and Removal

If I hadn't seen this demonstrated to me, I would not have believed it: Nair as a nearly instant, no scrubbing, solution for removing heavy marine growth, barnacles, and stains from buoys, fenders, and dock lines

fenders, and lines.

I can do my legs and the fenders at the same time!

In all seriousness, thanks, I will give this a try(On fenders).

I work in IT and you'd be surprised how quickly the keys on a keyboard will "melt" away when used by a woman. The lettering rubs off within a couple months and soon after the keys themselves become perfectly smooth like someone polished the texture off of them. Whatever they put in those hand moisturizers works like magic!

Just googled the contents of Nair:
"The active ingredients in brands Veet and Nair are salts of thioglycolic acid like potassium thioglycolate or calcium thioglycolate in combination with bases such as calcium, sodium, or potassium hydroxide."

...sounds like a cream version of Barkeeprs Friend

It also appears that Nair can be purchased for a lower price/ounce than West Marine EZ On-EZ Off (even with Port Supply Discount) - and my diver reports that it can be applied to strainers under water -- with good results, less scraping, and less chemical risk.

But, somehow I don't know if the Nair manufacturer will think too much of this off-label use. I think that I will email them for laughs.
