Default First Saltwater Boat

Brand new to the forum and looking to purchase my first saltwater boat. Green as a gourd regarding offshore boats. Will be fishing in the gulf from Carabelle FL to Panama City FL. I am looking at a 2010 Sea Hunt Triton 202 with a Yamaha F150 with 700 hours. Asking price is $29,500 OBO. I am also looking at a 2006 Scout 205 with a 225 Yamaha F225 with 400 hours. Asking price is $22,000. Both come with a trailer - Scout has a new 2019 trailer. Haven't seen (in person) nor sea trialed either yet but pics show both boats are very clean and well kept - at least as best as one can tell from pics. Both come with basic electronics and T Top. I don't intend to pay full asking for the Sea Hunt and frankly, the Scout price seems low but then what do I know.

I'd appreciate any and all feedback that is constructive. I know everyone has their favorite brands and I generally am partial to SH - however I'm like everyone else too, I like to save money as long as it doesn't come back to bite me in the ass.

Thanks in advance.

Just on the surface numbers, a cheaper boat with fewer hours and a larger motor pushes the right buttons, but it comes down to condition, records, and which one feels right to you. I'm a firm believer that if you're gonna spend your money on it then the one that makes you smile is the right one.

I agree with ultraclyde. Only thing I'd add is that you should hire a surveyor. Find a reputable one in your area and have him tag along when you check out the boats.
