Default marine speakers

whats everyone suggestion on 6 inch round marine speakers... i need 4 of them? doesn't have to be cheap but certainly doesn't need to be the most expensive. Just something that sounds decent, and i wouldn't be against getting a new head unit as well if there is combos out there

My new favorite tool... Air saw. Size of a die grinder with jigsaw blades. And JL speakers. And check the size of the hole. Normal is not 6" but 6.5" so maybe no cutting.

Hard to beat the JL MX650's for the money (not top of the line, still good quality). International Marine will have your best pricing.

just put these in my boat with a Fusion RA70 head unit. they sound awesome and International Marine beat every price I could find online.

Agreed. I have four of the 8" Kickers and they are great for the money.

JL is the right answer.

then maybe Wetsounds, but the JL crispness is so much better.

I have had many boats with JL, a few with WetSounds, one with the new Kicker stuff and just went with the newest M6 JL stuff in the Jupiter. I can tell you 100% that the Kickers I had in the last boat, using the same amps, blow away the others. The lows from the Kicker subs was insane. The 8's were extremely impressive also. I would take out this new JL setup and go back to Kicker in a heartbeat.

I agree Kickers may win for what you pay, but I have never considered the quality better than JL from my personal use.

Appropriate size hole saw with a backing plate temporarily attached to provide a center point. Blue tape the area to be cut and start the cut in reverse to prevent chipping the gelcoat

Use the template and jigsaw with a fine tooth blade or a dremel

If you're enlarging an existing hole go to amazon and look at the Hole Pro Hole enlarger kit. I was a little skeptical at first but it actually worked great.

I just replaced my stereo and speakers. I went with the Fusion RA70 and FR-6022 6" speaker. I think they are excellent for the price. They list for about $140/pair but can be had for less if you shop around. They come with 3 sets of faces (while/black/silver).

I just purchased one of the new M6 JL 10" subs. Will be getting a new amp too, I am between spending the money on a Kicker or going with another brand called Rockville? Far better pricing but thinking quality will be lacking because of this?
Anyone run a Rockville amp before? Pricing shows around $150-$170 for Rockville compared to $600+ for a Kicker.

I have a Polk 8 speaker system with an amp that was installed in the boat factory. Sounds really nice and Polk is a decent name for the money.
