Default Any APP that gives real time offshore wind speeds?

I make the decision to fish often at the last minute depending on the winds. NOAA buoys have been down for over a month now (those in South Florida). Are there any tools to check current wind speed in the ocean?

Sailflow gives both current and predictive maps. Very good overall on the great lakes and seemed decent the month I spent in the keys.

Not an Ap, but Earth is updated every 3 hours world wide. I use Windy for predictions--and seems very good. Sailflow, Windy and Windy.com are all going to give you about the same info--extrapolated forward from last observation to current time--3 hours apart. Generally they are all pretty good. On Windy.com, you pick a spot--touch it--and it will show the current wind speed...but it is always an interrupted--from nearby stations, and projected forward from last observed.

Of course the only reliable offshore real time wind speed is what is experienced in a boat.

Other than that I use Ventusky

That's the problem. All of our NOAA stations that report wind speed in the Keys have been dead for over a month now so I guess Windy's data is simply a forecast?

If the buoys aren't working, there is nothing else out there offshore taking real time measurements

That's what I was wondering. Didn't know if some Apps were built to take data from other vessels in the area. Thanks.

When the Wx buoys are down , NOAA Ships Obs may be the best chance at semi-real time wind and other actually observed data, ... if... there are reporting ships in your area of interest.

Not sure if you can get there from here:

It would be cool if someone developed an App to take this ship data and put it on an interactive map.

real time data requires something to measure the wind. The only things to measure are buoys and ships observations.

I think you are only going to find forecasts.
