Default Official THT 2017 Hunting Pictures

Well seems we do this every year, enjoy seeing what others have taken during hunting seasons

Rut is just starting good around here and yesterday I hunted my SIL/Daughters 50 acre tract of land. Did some bushhogging for him and as an after thought did a food plot and put up a 4x6 10' box stand (pre built) . Had no idea what to expect but yesterday afternoon I was covered up with deer . Good thing about this place it is only 10 minutes from our house

Shot hog first and then since deer still in food plot sat that waiting on dark to get down when nice 185lb 9pt comes out chasing does. Actually had 4 bucks in food plot at one time

That's a really nice buck and a really good looking spot. Our rut isn't until the end of January and beginning of February.

My son shot this one 10 minutes into the rifle opener this past Saturday. I took a doe as well that afternoon. First blood for my 6.5x55 Swede. Now that we have some meat in the freezer and the rut is approaching, we are focusing on Mr. Big Rack

Shot a nice 6 point this morning with a broken main beam in central CT on pressured public property.
Slug gun hunt, double lung but managed to run 125 yds. Very happy with him!

About an hour before I shot him I had 4 does come in. Shot was good but managed to hit a thick laurel branch and the deer scattered, so in a way I thank the mountain laurel.

6 pt

Just got back from Alaska. Spent a few days with a long time friend and connected with this one. For a Sitka blacktail, it's pretty nice..

Default KY buck

Filled my KY tag this week. It was pretty slow going for our area but I got it done with a decent buck. He was chasing and stopped downwind of me just long enough for a shot. The 300 blackout 110 grain Barnes did the trick. My second buck with that load.

That is a really nice Sitka Blacktail. Taken a bunch of them off of the rock and none any better than that one.

My 8yr old has been sitting in the stand with me for the past 3 seasons as an observer. This year it was his turn to get behind the gun. Had a really nice 6pt on camera I was hoping he would get a shot at but after several hunts of not seeing him and making him pass on several does and smaller bucks he was starting to get antsy for a shot at a deer.

Finally had this smaller 6pt walk out and he connected.

Sent my wife this pic from the woods and her response was “now you’re going to buy us a freezer, right?”

Nice Blacktail.
Is that a Kimber Montana rifle?
