You do the coolest projects with these kids. Very real world projects. If that makes sense. Great job.

Default Finished

The boys were able to finish up the cub just in time for Christmas( It was someone's present). On this build I didn't help at all. The guys took it from start to finish. The engine already run good. It just received a paint job and wiring.

Default Our next project

This is the trailer we just finished the overhaul on. Now we are going to do some updates on the boat.
Repair electronics box. Add back rest with cup holders to the leaning post. Add lights and replace pumps in the bilge. Dash will get a new look and change switch panel. Add transom backrest. This boat belongs to one of our teachers and we are open to any ideas or thoughts. Starting on Monday and will post the progress.

A high five to you for steering these kids in the right direction and keeping them busy! Looking forward to see the outcome of the hard work they will put in on the Fountain.

Congrats to the instructor and students. Jobs well done. As a high school guidance counselor I wish we had a program like this at our school. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing!

Default Thoughts

We were thinking half for storage and half for VHF and stereo. Any thoughts or ideas are welcome

Default Some one has to do it

These boys are not afraid of a little discomfort to get the job done. I think I will see if the owner can reward them with a couple of pizzas on Friday

Ah, to be young, thin, and flexible again.
Wish I could still be a bilge rat.

This is one of the best threads I've read yet on here. My dad was the building trades teacher at the local high school, he's retired now. He brought a little skiff in to teach them fiberglass and they redid a few skiff trailers too. I smiled reading through these pages and seeing all the young kids getting their hands dirty and investing in good projects. Kids, on a large scale, are missing these opportunities today. Thank you for being an involved teacher and working with the kids.

Tillman, if you made this a Discovery Channel projects show, you would have a huge hit.

Default More Holes

These boys enjoy drilling holes in boats too much. We do have other projects
going on also.

Default More Holes

Moved the stereo and learned to heat shrink today. We do have a problem. The dash has four holes that were previously drilled. The cup holder hole wont remove the unsightly holes. Each student must come up with a solution for the problem. No plate or starboard patch and no fiberglassing can be done. Lets see what solutions they come up with over the weekend.
