It's lightning lighting up that cloud...

and then it was hitting every 15 seconds for the next few hours as we raced 15 miles back to the dock, proceeded to drink beer and play cards in the garage instead of fishing.

Great sunrise shot SeaCat22, but knowing a few sandbars that have that many birds on them, I bet there was a certain odor that morning if you were down wind

One of the things I really like about Florida is we can be out on the boat and watch storms roll by all day long without ever getting a drop of rain on us.

Where we needed to go to was where all those dark clouds are in that photo. We basically sat here for over an hour watching them pass by and just counted lightning strikes. Never got a drop of rain on us

Some cool pics there! This is from a few days ago in South FL, taken from an iPhone 6 so nothing fancy here. The pic really does no justice to this storm. The way these things tend to roll in and then just detonate is amazing this time of year down here. We've been getting some good afternoon storms lately, goes from slick calm to blowing 50+ in minutes. and then over in 30 minutes like nothing happened. We made it to the inlet bridge before the brunt of it this time.

First off I did not shoot this photo. It is a good friend of mine, Mike Mezeul II with one of his friends. Thought it was appropriate and know you will enjoy. Titled "Beauty and the Beast". Note.... this was one of the Tornadoes near Dodge City, KS. but was one that caused no damage or injuries.
