Mavic, even the extra batteries lose charge over a month or so

They are designed to do that. You do not want to leave them at full charge. They are default set to discharge to storage at 10 days. You can only make that discharge time shorter. You will destroy the batteries if they did not discharge automatically or by flying them down to 30-50% for storage more than 10 days. Most of us set them to discharge at 3 days.

I need to try more headless mode flying and the patrol features

thanks for the feedback, good to know, wait for the next few generations or DIY waterproof a phantom
That pic is right out of lightroom. I had to reduce the quality to 15% to upload it to THT

I finally got the renewal for an authorization today. It took awhile but I am happy. i asked for .5 mile radius over a specific area. They gave me the whole Class C for the airport. They said to look at the grid and follow the heights for those specific areas.

I also filled out a Class E for a specific area. I did it a week before the new sectional chart was released. the new chart removed the Class E for that area. It was an old airfield that no longer existed. I was granted Class E for the whole area saying to follow the grid again. i dont' think there is any other Class E around the airport. i'll have to look

I went thru a cell tower inspection training class this week, I learned a lot. There is a definite intimidation factor flying so close to tall structures especially while it was raining. I was flying a DJI M200 that is somewhat water resistant. Here is a short video.
