Default Lets see your duck boat...

I am thinking about building a duck boat and powering it with a mud motor.

Just looking for ideas on any boats you use for duck hunting. It will probably be easier to just buy an old jon boat but id still like to see what you guys use.

Here is my boat from last season. It was a little too small for me.

So this year I am upgrading. Should be complete next week or so. Can't wait

This is a 16' Carolina Skiff. We bought it last November used, with an old 35hp johnson and a homemade wooden blind. We scrapped the motor but kept the blind, giving it new luan panels, new paint, and some camo fabric.
Here's the boat as we bought it...

with a new 40 hp yamaha and a refinished blind...

folding dog ramp...

My 17 foot DU Jones Brothers, wish it was a bit bigger, but I can fit 12 dozen decoys and 2or 3 guys in it.

Did you build your Cackler? I was thinking about building either the Cackler or Snow goose earlier this year but have not had the time.

I did not build it, I bought it from someone on cape cod. It was built by the wooden boat school in maine and modified by Dave Clark. Dave also did the canvas work. Haven't hunted it yet, just picked it up at the end of last season.

My newest addition to my fleet of duck boats: Custom 14 ghenoo. Ground out inside, built a topdeck all the way around and then build up sides 16". Cut out old transom and put in new reinforced built up stern. Finished it last month, haven't taken finished pic yet.

The gator hide is so wide and perfectly flat is my only explanation for 35. HD7000 plus a little extra custom work done myself and a reworked Tiger big blade (12.25x10). Clocked it at 34.7 on the gps with a slight ripple on the water at 4800 rpms trimmed full out. This boat MUST have weight in the front to get any speed at all. I can run it by myself and be lucky to get 27-28mph. Put about 350-400 pounds just in front of the center gun locker and she gets above 30 right fast

MLB Chuck Huff w/15 hp. Had several other sneakboxes before this. This gave me the largest cockpit PLUS I didn't need an extension handle on the outboard. I hate them things
