Great place....too bad you have to deal with St. Thomas to get there. That place IMO is a dump!

There is better snorkeling than at Trunk, but Trunk never disappoints. We always see some really cool stuff there. The moray eel was at trunk, also saw tarpon and other cool things there.
I totally disagree on St Thomas. I mean, I like St John better, but we like St Thomas as well. We actually stayed 5 nights on St Thomas and then a week on St John.

Our view on St Thomas

No doubt is St. Thomas gorgeous. I loved it there in the past, and have been many times.
I just not a fan of the island commercial base, nasty people & filth!

There are so many more islands as or more beautiful, clean & with friendly people!

Love St John, usually try and stay at Gallow’s Point. Snorkeling right there at the point can be fantastic

A place I intended to snorkel but never made it. I didn’t realize non guests weren’t allowed to stroll the property at Gallows. Although I did, I didn’t get back there with my snorkel gear.
My oldest son said one day, “Dad, if we passed a ditch on side of the road, you’d say we gotta snorkel that ditch!” It made me realize I probably needed to scale back my snorkeling a bit and give them a little more time to relax. So a few places I didn’t get to snorkel that I wanted to, however I did hit some new spots and saw a lot of cool stuff.

Great Pics
When you return to St John give the south shore a try.
Salt Pond Bay and Little Lampshur are a real snorkeling treat.

Yes, I've done both and I agree. Tektite is my favorite south shore snorkel so far.

We never made it out to Tektite. Did love the setting of Little Lampshur this April when we were down.

Always have to find a way out to the Indians, some of the best snorkeling in the Caribbean.

My scout group did a sailing there and really enjoyed it. We left St. Thomas and sailed around St. John.
