Default Am I fooling anybody? Fake scarab

Long story short I bought the step lift well craft for $300 and did a very low budget(mainly labor ) restoration etc.. any way I had originally planned on putting well craft decals back on it but a friend of mine suggested I do something cool etc... Well I always wanted a scarab so I had some decals made. I get a ton of compliments on the boat .almost everybody thinks it's a scarab . Can you guys give me an honest opinion? Am I fooling anybody?

And I was also thinking about adding a scarab beetle or checkered flag? The sides looks like it's missing something thanks for any constructive input.

I guess what's your intention?

1. Fooling people for a laugh? If so, then you wouldn't want to make it believable.

2. Impress other people?

3. Scam people when selling it?

Personally I would have gone with a 42 Freeman sticker

Since you asked.....I don't like it.
(otherwise I would have kept my mouth shut)

Regular boaters will know you're a "wanna-be" and non boaters won't know what a "scarab" is anyway.

Aren’t wellcraft and scarab similar hulls anyway?

but personally I would not have bothered spending the money on a decal, even the right one.

No, and why would you want to. About like slapping GT ro 5.0 logos on a 6 cylinder mustang. Nothing wrong with a V6 Mustang, but adding logos indicating it's something it isn't actually downgrades it several notches.

It looks alright to me. Hey, you wanted a scarab, but maybe couldn't afford one, call this your "poor man's scarab" Not too shabby for a $300 purchase.

Hmmm, I think I'll put some TRD stickers on my POS 2003 Tundra with 200,000 miles on it. Think I'll fool anybody?

slur aside, IMO anything presenting itself as something greater than it actually is, is no different than a V6 mustang.

The flip side, the opposite is absolutely awesome. Kill all the high performance logos and run quiet exhaust, and it's quite fun to blow the doors off an unsuspecting kid with straight pipes.

Not anything wrong with your boat at all. Just think is a bit juvenile.

Yeah. Was a joke that snowballed. And wellcraft used to own scarrab.well I get a ton of compliments and .Ipeople ask what year it is etc. I always tell them the truth. A lot of people tell me they love the v21 step lifts better then any scarab. have less then $1000 in whole boat.rebuilt all 6 carbs replaced impeller . Shift cable a lot of soap n water..oh and a battery. Well I guess the poll is in and most people do t like it... What do you think about the name and decal? Most people at the ramp die laughing when they see the hamburglar with a fishing pole

And comparing well craft to a scarab is nothing like comparing a v6 mustang to a gt... If my boat was a bayliner I could understand that reference

Double you money: I'll but it from you and you can keep the decals for your next flip.

Seriously, looks like you got a really nice boat for cheap money and your labor. If you are going to sell it, I'd remove the decals.

This will be the second season with my fake scarab.if I do sell I'm gonna put wellcraft decals back on it. Never planned on selling it but I miss having a smaller center console which is ironic because I spend most time on The Chesapeake bay.i do love the boat I love everything about it. I love my 150 blackmax smoking like a freight train at the ramp when I first start it.i have 4 other smaller boats each with there own purpose.i was mainly trying to get input on. Rather people would believe it's a scarrab or not . I wonder if I wouldn't of said it's a fake howany people would of picked up on it?
