Default Annapolis Power Boat Show yesterday 14 Oct 2011

We went to the show yesterday, we had a great time, a little rain but not a problem, lots of boats and lots of sticker shock. 300-350 HP outboards the norm. We noticed an increasing number of bow riders, (think they now call them dual console) many had bait and fish wells under the cushioned seats. Looks like the trend is to attract both fishing and picnic boat buyers with the same model. Left without making a purchase, the prices will take a little getting use too.

I went today. The show was fairly full without being crowded. The weather was nice but windy.

There was a surprisingly good selection of boats to view. Southport, Regulator, Grady-White, Pursuit, Yellowfin, Intrepid, Edgewater, Parker, Scout, Robalo, Albemarle, Jupiter, Sailfish, Whaler, etc. Sad to see some great names like Carolina Classic missing. The 7 Marine 557 hp red outboards were there mounted on an Intrepid.

This year's show is definitely worth a few hours if you are free.

No big boats, like larger express cruisers or SF?

Not many big sportfishers. Luhrs, Hatteras, and Bertram were absent. One Ocean [37 Billfish Express]; 2 Cabos; 2 Vikings; and my new Win-the-Lottery boat, the Henriques 42' Maine Coaster.

We went on saturday and had a great time. It was a little crowded but I expected that it would be, especially with the weather being as nice as it was. We went to look at some 30' Express/WA's.

We looked at the Robalo 305, Pursuit 315 OS, Albemarle 280XF and expected to see both the Grady 305 and 330 but were disappointed to see that Grady didn't have any of their express boats at the show ;?

The Roablo was definitley the better boat to suit our needs (60% cruising, 40% fishing plus some overnight and weekend trips) compared to the Pursuit and Albe in terms of over all layout, cabin space, fit and finish and mechanical accessability. I have some pics attached below of the Robalo as well as a few other boats from the show (including the 7 marine Intrepid and a 2.9mil Vicem 72 ).

Battery and breaker access at the transom, best placement I've seen on any boat.

I went this weekend with my wife, brother, and his girlfriend and we all had a great time. The weather was perfect, but my god there was a lot of sticker shock.

I can't believe how many 23 ft boats were pushing the 6 figure numbers. Even little boats like a 20ft Grady Tournament was almost $60k.

Sometimes they just get too pretty, makes ya think twice about getting blood all over it.
And what is with that blue striped hull with red engines???

Had my wife talked in the R247 that was two down from that one. Now I just need to find 80K laying around.

It's an Intrepid 370. I'm not too fond of the color scheme either but they're cool motors. Anyone have info on how much these cost a piece? I thought I saw somewhere on THT that they were in the neighborhood of $60k a piece

Yeah we saw that one there too, we didn't poke around it though but it was a nice looking boat from the outside. Robalo builds a good boat, I'm surprised I don't see more of them around.

Yeah, that's about what I thought. So it would be $130k a pair, roughly. How does that price compare to a trip verado set up of trip F300's?
