Like all Glocks the G43 is a striker fired pistol.
If a round is chambered the striker is cocked and ready to fire
There is no manual safety other than not pulling the trigger
Also like all Glocks the trigger and the sights suck. The trigger will get better the more it is shot. If you are mechanically inclined check online for the 25 cent Glock trigger upgrade. The sights are plastic which makes no sense for a defensive pistol. There are lots of good night sights available like Trijicon HD's
