Default Painting Vinyl

Good evening boys and girls. I am working on a light restoration of my '79 ski boat. Part of that is recovering the seats. Now being that I do not have much (any) experience working with vinyl or upholstery in general, I am considering painting/dying the seats- at least as a short term solution to last a couple years.

They are the original yellowish tan color, and in pretty decent condition considering their age. So I would like to not recover but just paint/dye them to white/off-white and grey.

My questions are:
1) Will any vinyl paint cover the old color and still look good?
2) Any particular brands/methods you all would recommend?

Also, any general advice with this would be great.

Thanks in advance!
