A couple of resident orca pods up in Alaska have learned to steal salmon off of the hook. They seem to wait until the fisherman have them almost to the boat just as a joke. I have also heard that some of the open water fish eating orcas have learned that once you figure out where the hook is, fish caught on longlines are an easy and pretty safe meal. Smart critters!! The best story or myth that I have heard is the one about the pair of bottle nose dolphins in Tampa Bay that knocked a couple of stand up paddle boarders off of their boards just for giggles. Can you imagine the ultrasonic conversation? Hey Flipper. Let's see if we can make these yuppies crap their board shorts.
