Not to make this a north south thing, but with your more limited boating season, the simple fact is its that much more difficult to make a living in any aspect of the boating world.

Everything from tackle shops, marinas, guides, surveyors, and also brokers have to deal with six plus months of (nearly) unboatable weather. That may have something to do with it.

Being a boat broker in New Hampshire is like owning an Italian ice stand in Alaska.
