I hear you. He was in same boat but at 49 (I think?) Dr said no more - was bone on bone. Was really hard for him mentally, more for his pride I think. He was into skiing, cycling, boating, was a stud athlete in the day, had his own remodeling biz with no helper, etc, etc. Looking back he's very glad he had it done.
