i crossed to bimini this week and we left the dock at 640am with 2 adults and 5 kids. before leaving i saw a fairly large and angry thunderstorm between miami and bimini. i was able to see the development and track of the storm and shifted my course south to run around the storm which was moving north.

we got a few drops of water and it got a little bumpy near the storm. that's it. i told everyone on board that the information i received on that crossing was easily worth a year's subscription price. because of xm weather, i was able to avoid a terrible storm and avoid going through a difficult time and i was able to make the trip.

coming home today, from bimini i watched the storms develop on land in miami and could see that they were moving westwardly and not coming offshore towards bimini. it gave us 5 hours more in bimini to have fun.

it is a priceless piece of equipment, equivalent to an EPIRB.
