When you drink you should fall asleep faster...and snore louder!
As for sleeping regardless (Buddy), some say exercise will help you out (i.e. deplete energy and make you tired), relieve stress and ease you to sleep BUT make sure you do it at least 4-6 hrs before bed. Who knows if it actually does help. I'm a good sleeper so don't get to try the theory.
If all else fails, count fish.
