Our county is at $0.810/$100 of ASSESSED VALUE for 2011 - $8.10/$1,000 for the "mathmatically challenged", like myself.

They are usually pretty consistent from year to year and this past January they came DOWN on most of the "assessed values" (yeah, the housing market!) for the FIRST time in probably 20 years or so - $20K in our case, on the townhouse we sold about 1-1/2mo. ago.

That includes police, fire, schools, and all other county government services (NOT trash P/U - that's "private" per the homeowner). We have a couple of county "dumps" - free to residents, but I think there is a charge for certain stuff from contractors or similar. Water/sewer fees are NOT included and are billed every 2 months.

GREAT county to live in, with EXCELLENT schools.

And when you go up to the county offices, it's ALWAYS like dealing with "family"!

I've lived in this county (Hanover) since 1987 and wouldn't trade it for ANY of the other counties in the metro Richmond area!

Regards,
