For anyone who thinks they've a possible world record fish to submit - just contact the IGFA directly.. They actually have reps around the world in the darnedest places that can help you find certified scales and assist you at every step of the process...

Personal note.... the only fish I've ever caught that was a potential world record, an African Pompano, was taken roughly ten years before that specie was listed with the IGFA... When they finally listed them it was ten more years before anyone posted one bigger than mine (sigh). It was a 35lb african taken on 15lb line -- off of a fishing pier (the old Lake Worth pier, where more than one world record was set, if I remember correctly).
