Vet will most likely perscribe Deramaxx or Rimadyl and/or Adequine injections. I had an old lab and it kept her going for a while. Glucosamine will help too. Unfortunately it's a downhill run, but all the above will help. Rimadyl seemed like the most effective treatment for my old lab. There is also a company called Acell that has a revolutionary treatment . . . but it's not available yet for most animals.
