Default RE: Navionics Gold

Hi folks,
'Size' catagories can be confusing. I can not speak for Navionics but would like to clarify C-MAP cartography regions:

Local+, Wide+ and SuperWide+ indicates the pricing catagory. Generally speaking, these 'Precision' cards all have the same level of detail (the highest), just over larger or smaller geographic area. More geographic coastline covered with "precision detail', greater price. The exceptions are under the category of 'Pro-Angler' (also referred to as Fishing or Bathymetric) or ICW.

The Pro-Angler cards http://80.239.21.88/ntplus/quickref_...quickrefID=ECB are for offshore fishing and include all the bottom contours but little harbor detail, while the one ICW card (NA-C307 http://80.239.21.88/ntplus/quickref_...quickrefID=FBW ) is specialized to include all the NOAA 1:40,000 scale ICW strip charts from Norfolk to Key West but not necessarily full harbor detail (it does include many of the major inlets, allowing you to run offshore).

Unless you only boat a very small area, Wide+ or SuperWide+ are the most economical. Let me know if I can clarify any further for C-MAP users.
