Default Re: Has anyone installed an ice maker in a freezer that wasn't equipped for one?

The icemarker is not hooked to compressor lines on any residental refs. Household ref have not used r12 in 15 years. Rushh, I think the IM on a LG ref has a sensor connected to control board when disconnected will not work. Most LG ref ruduce voltage down to 24v Dc for IM. Will not work in GE ref. You can get a IM6 kit that fits almost all GE ref for @ $100.00 new. Flot I once took an old 20cf top mount ref with an IM on left side of freezer added another IM on right side. I took out all the shelfs and put a piece of plastic along front with door still on. Both IMs running would fill freezer in 2 days. Around 40lbs. Would have made more but no room. I can put IM in chest freezer no problem.
