That story was dated May, 2005.
So how did it turn out?

As I read it - frankly the whole thing sounds like garbage to me. Apparently the guy's engine grenaded at 22k miles. Dealership looked at it and said it was due to "External factors" (for instance, this would apply if he ran into something that punctured the oil pan and the engine then siezed) and not warranty. Amazingly - his insurance company agreed, and footed the $8000 bill for engine repairs. AFTER that, the guy decided to sue Honda. Honda's reply was, you can't sue us against the Moss-Mag act because it does not apply to leases. They did not say their warranty did not apply to leases.

Somehow this went on for a few court cases.... despite the fact that the guy's insurance company, apparently, did in fact pay $8k in repairs to his vehicle.
So this guy wanted to collect on his insurance AND have Honda fix the car under warranty? And this makes it all the way to the supreme court?

One word... unbelieveable.
