No reason why you can't wire it yourself. Sure it may take you longer, a few youtube videos, of course some trial and error. At the end of the day you will not only know it was done correctly by your hands but also give you peace at mind knowing that if something electrical goes wrong you know where to look first. I had the same problem as you, tore out all the wiring and did it myself, the right way. Obviously as a aircraft mechanic I already knew what I was getting into but after hours of researching what I wanted and gather materials I was able to completely wire every system onboard and this was 3 years ago, haven't had a single problem. Well worth YOUR time and investment.
