If this guy is the culprit http://www.oznet.ksu.edu/dp_hfrr/ext...s/hornworm.htm and you don't have dozens of tomato plants, hand picking is the easiest way to control them, no chemicals needed.

And as mole2 said... "...and if they have a bunch of white eggs all over their bodies then leave those worms alone. Those are small wasp eggs (can't remember the name) which are feeding on the worm killing it slowly. You want those small wasps because they eat tomato worms. And when the eggs are on the worms the worms stop eating. Ain't nature great?
