A nifty little organic pesticide called BT, sold under many different brand names (active ingredient is "Bacillus theringensis" although I didn't spell it quite right) will take care of them. It is a spore that only effects caterpillars (although you can get BT for other specific pests). You dust the plant, bug eats plant with dust, bug dies of terminal constipation, no more bug.

The key to getting to caterpillars with chemicals is to get it under the leaves. The 'pillers hang out under the leaves for protection from preditors and rain, so putting the poison on the top won't do any good. You don't have to be too concerned about getting BT under the leaves, it doesn't take much to do it's job.
