I just installed one yesterday. I had the Terrova mounted on a quick release mount that was mounted on a thick aluminum plate. The motor was too far forward for my liking especially when docking. It's now definately out of the "kill" zone. Effortless sliding isn't a problem. I wish there was a more positive position "lock". You can adjust the sliding tension but to keep it from sliding inaverdantly when trailering you reeally need to cinch it down. Fine tuning the metal rails that ride in the poly grove by mounting them closer (inward) works but then it's so snug you have push pretty hard for deployment. Not really a problem if the water is calm. You could have it in easy glide mode if you had a very positive tie down/hold back method for the motor on the deck.
