I use Verizon and in my area (DC metro) it works well. If it can't connect at the fastest speed, it will fall back to a slower service. When I travel, I usually connect to the slower speed. It is $80/month. Less expensive if you have a voice plan w/ Verizon

All of the carriers should have coverage maps on their sites to compare
