Default Re: Hurricane/Storm-shutter / window-protection ideas?

SurferGirl - With the wind abatement screens, they install a small track along both sides of your windows that short bolt heads can slide into. The screens have metal grommets in them about a foot apart that go over the bolts in the tracks. Then you can use a rechargable electric drill with an attachment for the wing nuts you screw on the bolts to hold the screens to the tracks. The screens are very light compared to metal panels and easy to install. Just a little labor intensive to put on all the wing nuts. When you're done, you can roll up all the panles and stuff them in a duffle bag abd hang it in your garage, so they don't take up a lot of space.
