Center rigger needs to be tall enough that the long center line will always pass over the other long riggers when the boat turns.
i prefer a very stiff center pole, so that it doesn’t whip side to side when the boat rocks or the wind blows, and the clips open immediately on strike.
center rigger is a prime place to use a tagline setup to minimize drop back.i
i always double rig the center rigger, the lower position is great for big floppy Marlin lures run really short, or daisy chains.
the long rigger is my Hail Mary, way way back with a 5” cherry jet.
