I use mostly all 3000 series reels on my boat for striped bass. I kept having internal gear failures with the Battle 2's. Heck I bought 5 new ones last year alone in the spring and had to send 3 in for repair in less than year. They never seemed smooth out of the box. The Spinfisher looks like a much nicer reel to me although I havent run them. A client had one (a 3500) on board several trips last fall. Only real downside I saw was that I surprised that the drag seemed very choppy.

Personally I switched all my spinning gear to Shimano this year and have been very happy so far. They are WAY smoother and lighter (and so far more durable). Me and several other guides in the area really like the value of the NASCIs.
