Jets were the go to until the TruTrips came to market. I have a box full of old jets. Of the charters I know that still use Jets, they have modified with a trip set that makes them stop diving when released just like TruTrip.

The TT also have a steeper dive curve meaning less line out on each set. Less line equals less chance of fish loss and less chance of crossed lines or tangles.

Another advantage is small fish do not always roll a Jet where the TruTrip will release when properly set.

If resetting your spread, to adjust depths, you have to crank in against the Jet, with a TT you pop and retrieve with no resistance. Meaning you get a quicker reset with TT and lures back in water working quicker.

No doubt, Jets work, however I will never go back to Jets. I have a box full of them in the basement..
