No question about that but the diameter of 10# doesn’t lend itself to laying back on the spool without digging in which is braids draw back. PP is also not round and the reason for the slick 8 strand braid making it lay better on the spool.
i only use bait casters and have moved from 20# to 30# and noticed zero loss of casting distance but improved durability.
