Not just for bait. I lost about 35 lbs of venison steaks, sausage, and hamburger, along with a couple 10lb hams, 10lbs of Canadian bacon, and a 16lb turkey when our storage freezer went and I didn't notice till about a week later when I opened the door and got blasted by the most fowl, muggy warm air that absolutely didn't belong in a freezer. The pool of swill in the bottom was worse. That's when I went and bought a cheapo freezer alarm. Although there is pretty much daily foot traffic in our cellar for laundry, etc, nobody does a daily chk on the freezer. Now it sounds an alarm if the temp starts rising.
