Interesting thread. I'm guessing that you can get the numbers to add up to "acceptable," and you probably have enough info to fill in the blanks to determine this.

I used to pull a Bobcat around town that weighed about the same as your boat with my '07 Chev 2500. I wasn't used to pulling that much weight, and wouldn't have wanted to do it with a "lesser" truck. I'd guess the limits are the braking ability and the tranny.

When you say "tow a boat", you have to factor how far, how often, the terrain, weather, etc.

My guess is, you'll know if your safe pulling your boat within the first 20 miles or so of your first trip.
