One of the first things I had to learn was that there is no graduation from recovery. We are in recovery until we die or relapse. My wife asked what my long term goal was and my response is always the same.... "to be the best husband, father and friend I can be. Then to pass on with as much clean and sober time as I can". I just keep plugging along, step by step, and maintain a long view. I have to admit, while I am beat up from my 10 year bender I feel so much better. My priorities have changed and my family is tops.
