Got a test run in this weekend. Launched the boat, and after a few tries the motor fired up. Tooled around the river for a bit playing with the throttles and jackplate. I did learn that I need at least calf deep water or I run aground. LOL This was on purpose as I went to a local flat at low tide and tried to cross it. The top end speed increased by 5 knots. Before the rebuild WOT was 24 knots. On my test run WOT was 29.4 knots. That pretty quick for an 18 foot boat. Could probably get a little more speed if I played with the jack plate and trimmed her up a bit, but I'm happy with the performance. Cruise at 21 knots at 4000 rpm. Still need to paint and install rod holders.
