If they hide under the bar, my guess is that they're Aedes aegypti or Aedes albopictus. Are they also kind of wary? stay down low around your legs and ankles rather than aggressively biting you wherever?

if so, then those are container breeding mosquitoes. That means you or a very close neighbor have something holding water. Buckets, old pool, plant trivets, bird baths, clogged gutters, kids toys, vases, jars, boats, tires, and on and on.

Search high and low for anything holding water and get rid of it.
To immediately kill the ones hiding under the bar, something as simple as Yard Guard works just fine. But you need to find the source.
