Buy diesel at the beginning of the hurricane season and treat it. If you don't use it in you generator just put it in your diesel truck a little at the time after the season is over saving some for regular engine exercise. This way the fuel is fresh, has no algae or much condensation. I've done this since Katrina with no problems in either my Lister style engine that drives my generator or my 7.3 Powerstroke, a little inconvenient but when the power goes out I still have dependable diesel powered electricity.
