As haapens with with a lot of old frames, once they are beyond their useful life in 1st world countries, they wind up in the hands of shady operators with questionable maintenance and pilots.
i flew on one of those models a few years ago. One airplane airline going in to Simferopol a few months before Putin invaded. I could count 4 different colors of peeling paint while walking up the stairs. Longest 58 min flight ever.
