High speed trolling in Hawaiian waters is seldom an option, most times it’s too rough, the lures won’t stay underwater, and the boat and fisherman get beat to hell and soaked.
When Ono are biting, 9 or 10 knots works well, but often 7 works too.
I’ve had some great hookups when the lures drop on a sharp turn or the boat is slowed too, so take your pick, mix it up, and do what works best for you!
