My only suggest is get a safe large enough and fireproof enough that you can store your important docs and computer back up stuff in it also.
I do have a large fireproof safe, but it is not in my bedroom, thus not ideal location for the shotgun. For this I just need a 1 gun secure spot. I am leaning towards the Hornady unit with a trigger guard in addition whenever the little one has friends over growing up.

Now, for the fun part, looking into this.
By the way, just got significant other approval (god bless her father being a cop/penitentiary officer)
